Una nevada histórica. More evidence of global warming: yesterday saw the most intense snow strom in Barcelona since 1962.

Nathalie logs onto the FCB site every day after school and I was greeted with this news when I came home last night. Those old photos look great don't they.

oh come on! That needs nipping in the bud right now! ;-)

Incredible really, the photo doesn't do it justice* (I chose the 2010 pic because of the two skiers symetrically oppopsite the 1962 photo (which, as you say is marvellous...so much depth etc in the black and white)

* only about 2 or 3 inches in the city but further out 4 to 6 inches and further inland and north about 8 to 10! Doesn't sound a great deal compared to the winter we've all had BUT this was in about 6 hours...and the morning was rain so no real expectation of the sleet (then snow!) settling.

Apologies if I've told you this before but back in the late 1970's my Mum and Dad were on holiday in Mallorca when it snowed. As it didn't happen very often there were dozens of coaches leaving Parma with excited locals going to the hills to see the snow. Not sure if the little train to Soller was working but that would have been great, a mixture of orange groves and snow.

Yes, deep green, bright orange and white! An Irish heaven!
