Odium of others...

Click on map for Max Fisher at the Washington Post, World Views: "A fascinating map of the world’s most and least racially tolerant countries". The Anglosphere, Nordic and Latin American countries leading the way. Worth reading the updates too and Steve Saideman's comments.

I've seen a great deal of racism in my time. Most of it is 'black on black' though...

I have often been flabbergasted at the way they treat each other.

Hi Cap, funnily enough I've often wondered with your travels in Africa if you got much jip and if it was worse than in the UK, which despite it being much, much better than before still has some nasty racism.

One thing that does happen a lot is that black folks, especially in ex-British colonies, call me "Master". It makes me cringe. I tell them all the same thing: "You have no masters, and certainly not me, so stop calling me that".

I have never experienced any racism because I am white.

I get it in Scotland though...because I am an Englishman.

Fascinating.

I was interested about the comments regarding Japan because I was explaining to somebody recently, having been told by an English teacher based in Japan, how openly racist the Japanese are. Signs in hotels and restaurants saying 'No Foreigners' and 'Japanese Only' are regarded as the norm and supported in some instances by legislation.

Those Frenchies eh!
