Ows opines...

Remember last September when I changed to Beta Blogger?...and then spent time in purgatory as it was a problem for people to comment and for me to comment elsewhere? THIS is the post; but the reason I mention it is because I've put the Owsblog stats on a graph and look HERE for what happened to those numbers after the 3rd quarter when I switched!

I promise I won't mention this episode again...

Span - I've just posted a link to Gavin's site on my blog but it looks large and unweildy (sp?) - the link that is, not the site.

How do you manage to put the link in and just have one word (as you have in your post)?

Is ok - I've just managed (after a few hours!) to work it out! God I really am a luddite!

Hi Sarnia...I'll pop over and have a look anyway...

This seems the most appropriate area to talk of this...I don't understand why you keep getting word that your attempts to comment are failing because as you say, they are appearing ok.

I have just gone through every part of my blog's workings and everything appears to be fine. It may be I will see something that needs tweaking and if I spot it, I'll correct it.

What is happening that is a bit strange...I have the settings so that e-mails arrive to tell me when a comment has been posted from someone(Mags told me about that feature last year)but since starting to blog more often again in the last week or two some e-mails are not arriving, some are arriving two or three days later and I've already read the comments before the e-mail notification reaches me and others are appearing in the ISP's webmail program but not coming into the Outlook Express e-mail program even though nothing has been changed so it is a bit confusing.

Blogs do seem to have their own problems that affect only them. You know the pop up windows that we write our comments in...well, I can when I write on many blogs drag that window and make it bigger but if I try to do so with your window, it refuses.

But at least it doesn't affect me leaving comments and reading others that have been posted.

Oh, one final point...when I try to leave a comment on most blogs even though I copy the word verifications and use my google account correctly, the first time I submit the comment it usually fails and only accepts the comment on the second attempt.

But as I think I will find when this comment is left immediately after the last, it will appear first time around...

Hi Gildy, you commented as I was editing my translation in the above post re Venezuela.

Two things I know what you mean (1) on some blogs you can make the comment blog full-screen size and others no, I didn't realise I was one of the 'noes' (2) I too get frustrated by the word verification...but have always thought I was going mad - convinced I had written it correctly only to have to do it again with a new code....wierd.

Ah, you've just answered the question I have just asked on the blog entry below. You cannot enlarge the window.

BTW your stats dropped because you were too idle to bother blogging very much!

..."your stats dropped because you were too idle to bother blogging"...

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

well that may have something to do with it but I do distinctly recall posters saying they could not comment...no matter HOW HARD they tried!! :-)

...however, the more you post the more the 'visits' rise...so maybe you're right!!!...ish...a lot of the visiits are actually the posting and editing despite having your (my) number/server/thingy descluded from the count.

P.S. heelllooooooooo Mags! :-)

"descluded" what sort of word is that????

Oh and I KNOW you are not 44 anymore you old fraud! ;-)

....are you mistaking April for August? I'm a young 44 for another 4 months yet!...

...in Spanish it isn't uncommon to 'invent' words or use something that isn't known but the meaning is clear - I've just started doing it in English....rather good, no?
