Before you condemn, remember the Kosovo precedent. This is the same, 100%. No ifs, no buts. But it's "them": the baddies, right?...and IF the votes go the Russian way (they will) any action is then not helping the poor saintly (ahem) Ukrainians but an attack on sovereign Russia:

“In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. This is not a bluff.” ['bad' Vlad]

I concur. That, the course of the war, the Ukrainian "gains", and the map above, are EXACTLY what I told my military serving number-two son - to the letter - back in end-Feb/beginning-March this year. Exactly, precisely, TO-THE-LETTER. If fat Span Ows, England-loving, loud, overweight, brash, stubborn, impatient, non-Putin-loving but also non Mr Bean Zelensky-loving average 'man-in-the-street' (general gob-shite "know-all") "knew" this back a few days into the Russian invasion, what of our political class?

Hard to compute? Just think of the bidets (wonderful spell check) Bidens and Clintons (and by extension the Obamas) as crime families: they are; Ukraine is a massive money-laundering opportunity (it is); suddenly it all makes sense. 

Literally 5 minutes 'surfing' tells you all you need to know...BUT, if you don't want to know, well... LOOK! A squirrel!

The 'appetiser': "you probably failed to notice this, but Russia paid its due debt installment in full last Friday. You probably didn’t see that, because the MSM blanked it." [sic]

The entrée: "In a nutshell, driving Russia into default risks a nuclear chain reaction that is impossible to predict….and anyone telling you otherwise (eg the Pentagon) is lying." 

The conclusion: "...there is one depressing certainty in 21st century life: our economic system, US democracy, EU fiscal stability, media investigation, bureaucratic rules, banking credibility, corporate governance, NATO information, health science, civil policing, military intelligence and financial sectors are all irreparably compromised by greed, mendacity and unachievable globalist megalomania." 

I am presuming too that you have all noticed that China, India (and very early on Pakistan, "so much excitement") and now the Emirates are all overtly not-quite-cosying-up to Russia but certainly not turning them away and making gains while the EU and the UK are failing and going backwards at every level, even propaganda. 

And off topic but really very much on topic, you know what hasn't gone away:

I was stunned and as per Jack Posobiec's tweet, it is "Fascinating". 

The reason I post it is that in my experience (not a lot!) but it seems to be the same with most people I have spoken to. Before with Blair/Brown, the Conservatives, EU, Climate Change, Israel, Brexit, Trump etc., most people realise I am right and accept the real truth ( ;-) ) but with Covid and now Ukraine the whole thing is off-balance (they're wrong and I'm still right).

When is one 'revolting public' not the same as another? In every case I expect but two situations in the current news cause contrary and entirely different reactions in me: in burning Ukraine I am concerned that - once again - the whole story isn't being told - Raedwald says it better: "Wicked, cruel and corrupt President outed by righteous populace and beautiful princess rescued from prison; democracy reigns, prosperity arrives, the Sun shines and all the people are happy runs the myth. The truth is rather more grey, much murkier and full of those inconvenient moral dichotomies that intrude into real life." And, concurring again "And contrary to expectations, it's the Mail that carries the most prominent narrative counter to the fairy-tale being told by the BBC" about the 'political earthquake': Ukraine and especially Crimea is so much more than just an area between Russia and the West (NATO/EU/US). 



And as Europe and most of the world watches Ukraine, in Venezuela the situation takes a similar road for very different reasons. There are similarities: the burning scenes, the street protests, the deaths, the useless Insulza (and OAS) playing the part of the useless Ashton (and EU) but in Venezuela there is almost a communication hegemony, rampant crime, 'war-zone' murder rates, near zero Accountable Government and Delivery of Justice [PDF, 1 page], longer and bigger blackouts, queues for food staples, record bond yields (telling the tale and belying Krusty Lite's ridiculous blaming of anyone and everyone for propaganda and sabotage) and the ever-powerful local armed militias - now as ominous and obvious as they were then -to name a few of the major differences. The image from some of yesterday's demonstrations:  El pueblo se mueve...



In Venezuela the case is clear for a people's uprising, in Ukraine it is not...IMHO.
