What he seems not to have noticed is that Obama is already on that road! Or so it seems: Tim Reid, Washington correspondent for The Times: "It [last weeks $4-trillion budget] is a manifesto to usher in a new age of government activism that involves levels of borrowing and spending never before seen in the US and is a document of such staggering ambition and risk that even some of Mr Obama's Democratic supporters are suddenly beginning to feel a little queasy."..."Para el presidente venezolano el capitalismo ha fracasado: "¡Venga Obama, alineese con nosotros rumbo al socialismo! ¡Venga, ese el Ășnico camino!"
I believe both Chavez and Obama are wrong about capitalism. But where have I heard that 'end of conservatism' before? Oh yes, I remember, Tony Blair. READER WARNING, reading THIS in full can induce severe vomiting...perhaps, at the moment, we're all on the road again..."Its goal is not just to rescue the economy. It is to crush conservatism, end the age of anti-tax, anti-regulation policies that have been the guiding philosophies of US governance for a generation, and usher in a fresh 'epoch', as his aides call it, of New Deal-Great Society wealth redistribution and central intervention..."
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again...

Obama sounds more like Gordy everyday. Talking of which did you see what they gave each other for pressies last week, Gordy went to all that effort and in return he got a huge DVD collection and the kids got a model helicopter each! What kind of relationship is this?
Yes I read that Brown came bearing a pen holder "carved from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet"..."sister ship of that which gave the wood to create the famous 'Resolute Desk'... He also gave Obama the framed commission for that famous ship, the HMS Resolute. His third gift was a seven-volume (first edition I hear?) biography of one of England's greatest leaders, Winston Churchill."...lots of thought went into that (probably not by Brown) but good gifts...
In return? "walmart multibuy halfprice" dvd set...will they even work in Europe (I think not!) hahahahahahahaha....
Sad and funny.
P.S. (Next day!) "Obama sounds more like Gordy everyday."...that is worrying. I have often said that Brown is SOOO bad and SOOO pigheaded that it is almost as though he is intentionally trying to flush the country down the toilet.
When you look at Obama's radical past and what he is doing you get the same impression...is he mad, bad or something more sinister! (slight unintendied lefty pun there!) Saul Alinsky "reformation", ACORN etc...
