Don't know if you saw the polls this week, I know they are meaningless really, but the public seems to be coming round to the idea that cuts are the only way out of this mess.

On another note I was told yesterday that banks have stopped lending money, despite all the political pressure and fallout over the bonuses. You can't even get a loan if you match the bank pound for pound. Not good times for small businesses or anybody wanted to get a business started, the only alternative are non-bank loans.

Polls...meaningless, but fun :-)

I would suggest that those polls are more about reflecting how poor Labour are at the moment than (more than about about New Labour failing the economy/country) more people agreeing with the Coalition...that said, it is encouraging the amount of people who are saying "well we have had it too good", "well we should pull our socks up", "well we should stop silly spending"...it may hurt in the short term but medium long term it is good for everyone (including your health, I am sure being less indebted will 'pick people up')

Re banks, that is their version of the same attitude but it hamstrings those SME that NEED to spend now.
