"Outsider's" outgoing Oval Office oration...

The image on the left I have posted before; it struck me as ringing so true; it already looks like that first reaction was correct.

And so, the best US president of this century, the best since President Reagan, by far in my opinion. Think what you will about The Donald's brash manner - and that's all that some people do think about, refusing to see beyond a blinkered tantrum that has lasted since the day DJT announced his candidacy [and I hope you recall the raging shrieking insulting protesting shitstorm that followed his win in 2016, the death threats, the threats of violence, the actual violence and the lies, the constant blatant lies that have lasted over four years] - well today Donald Trump leaves office.

The lies continue, the BBC and others at their worst, as expected.

POTUS 45 outgoing speech HERE, transcript HERE (The Whitehouse). Some snippets:

DJT: "Now more than ever, we must unify around our shared values and rise above the partisan rancor, and forge our common destiny.

That will most probably not happen: the Left won't allow it to happen. In the name of fairness they will be grossly and overtly unfair and wrong, with a pseudo-Fascism that some will think only as a 'backlash' but will in fact be the on-going march of the Left's totalitarianism. Think I am wrong? They are already opening saying it.
"With the support and prayers of the American people, we achieved more than anyone thought possible. Nobody thought we could even come close.
This, in spite of the constant and intensifying onslaught from an irrecoverably biased media, 95% negative reports on Trump: "I’ve been studying the news media and elections for more than 35 years. Trust me — there’s never been anything like it..." [NewsBusters]

DJT: "We created choice and transparency in healthcare, stood up to big pharma in so many ways, but especially in our effort to get favored-nations clauses added, which will give us the lowest prescription drug prices anywhere in the world."

"We also unlocked our energy resources and became the world’s number-one producer of oil and natural gas by far...

We reignited America’s job creation and achieved record-low unemployment for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, women — almost everyone...

Incomes soared, wages boomed...

"We rebuilt the American manufacturing base, opened up thousands of new factories, and brought back the beautiful phrase: 'Made in the USA.'"

"We created choice and transparency in healthcare, stood up to big pharma in so many ways, but especially in our effort to get favored-nations clauses added, which will give us the lowest prescription drug prices anywhere in the world."

"As a result of our bold diplomacy and principled realism, we achieved a series of historic peace deals in the Middle East. Nobody believed it could happen. The Abraham Accords opened the doors to a future of peace and harmony, not violence and bloodshed. It is the dawn of a new Middle East, and we are bringing our soldiers home.

I am especially proud to be the first President in decades who has started no new wars."

"As President, my top priority, my constant concern, has always been the best interests of American workers and American families. I did not seek the easiest course; by far, it was actually the most difficult. I did not seek the path that would get the least criticism. I took on the tough battles, the hardest fights, the most difficult choices because that’s what you elected me to do. Your needs were my first and last unyielding focus."
"No nation can long thrive that loses faith in its own values, history, and heroes, for these are the very sources of our unity and our vitality."
"I go from this majestic place with a loyal and joyful heart, an optimistic spirit, and a supreme confidence that for our country and for our children, the best is yet to come."

I think the whole thing is worth a listen - or a read at least; I bet many - none that would ever read my blog LOL - have no clue what Trump has done: all they can see is 'oooh rude', 'eeeey, nasty tweets'.

I sincerely hope Biden doesn't reverse a lot of the triumphs and progress over the last presidency, he has already said he will...

Update 11a.m.: forgot the main line and reason for the blogpost title:
"Four years ago, I came to Washington as the only true outsider ever to win the presidency.
My emphasis, and the reason they never forgave him, not even for one second, of the last 4 and a bit years. If the Democrats, even just a few of them, had thought, even just for a few minutes, about the people they were supposed to represent, imagine how much greater the last 4 years could have been. They were good years for Trump's successes but like I say...a few Democrats, for a few minutes...was that too much to ask?
