Osseous options or organs on offer…

Talk about skeletons in the closet! This is spooky although it probably happens quite regularly in a global context: a modern day version of the 2 Williams, Burke and Hare. At least in this case it appears that they haven't actually killed any of the 'donors' but who's to say that wouldn't have happened had the market been available! From the article, "The men, including the chief executive of a company that sold human tissue for medical implants, were indicted on charges including conspiracy, unlawful dissection and forgery."... "Prosecutors said the men, working with a Brooklyn funeral home, got bones and organs from the bodies of people who were not organ donors." This story would make a good movie, except I seem to remember the rather enjoyable film thriller 'Extreme Measures' with Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman; they've already done it!

'Extreme Measures' That film was so bad. Defo in my never want to see again list, despite the precence of Hugh .

was it really bad? I remember it being quite tense...maybe I've mellowed; mind you it was a while ago.

Funny you like Hugh, I love Liz; they "went out" together for 13 years!!

P.S. Where is everybody?

I don't like the idea of messing with dead bodies. They should be treated with respect. Legal transfers should be encouraged, absolutely.

I'm nicely drunk at the moment. We just beat Russia 4-0 in the ice hockey semi-final. We played perfect. I've never seen us play so well. Sweden in the final; our old ice hockey enemy.

I really don't know what he saw in her ;)
4 weddings was Hughs best imo. It had Andie MacDowell too, much nicer than Liz

Hi Span,
I'm so behind on my blog and just about everything else...Now if I can just find out how to add links so I can direct people to your site and do something fancy over at "My Place" ;-)

Wasn't there some carry on in the news not too long ago where some of the bones belonging to Alistair Cooke(the newspaper columnist/radio person)had been taken and/sold and had been transplanted into someone. And it was a big story highlighting that the practice is quite widespread in America(and maybe elsewhere for all we know)

Did anyone hear an outcome of that story?

From the point of view of the person who received Cooke's bones, because he had cancer, there is a liklihood that this could cause problems for the doner.

Hi Gildy, I wouldn't worry too much about being behind: we all seem in the same boat and Gavin's done a runner - obviously being questioned in the big robbery...:-)

Finny, great final but the Swedes pipped you - good advert for the game though.

Lucy, HG is either a love or hate figure...now I've said that I have to admit I love him...:-/ because I don't hate him!!! Notting Hill was good too.

Hope to 'do the rounds' of the blogs' at the weekend...this thing called work keeps interferring!!

I've just noticed! Gildy, you didn't follow the link because the link IS the outcome of the story you mention...and I didn't 'read' your comment until now!! (despite having read it before!!!...:-/
