Oh dear, "Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has questioned whether the US has developed a secret technology to give cancer to left-wing leaders in Latin America.". [edit p.m. he did not want to make "reckless" accusations, he said, making reckless accustaions]. That said, when you look at the probabilities it does seem a mammoth coincidence: the recent news that the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has thyroid cancer follows Krusty's own battle (no announcement as to where but my "guess" HERE, third paragraph); and add to the list ex Brazilian President Lula had throat cancer and the current leader Brazilian Dilma Rousseff had lymphoma cancer. One can hardly blame Chavez for thinking this way. John Pilger's 'War on Democracy' is well worth a watch if you want to know the truth.

Thanks Ripper, I was aware of and have seen that film, just watched it again. Trouble is, there's the truth and there's the Truth...and given time and resource I could easily make a film saying pretty much the exact opposite of what his documentary says, with relevant interviews, shocking images and accomapnying mood music.
I know that in some of the excursions into Central America the USA is on shaky ground re its involvement but I could debate Chile and Cuba for hours (hours probably isn't enough) and re Venezuela I probably know a lot more than JP, in fact a sister-in-law of mine is a mission leader for Chavez.
Don't forget the number of attempts the CIA made on Castro's life and Patrice Lumumba (although I think the Belgians eventually copped for that) and the way they tried to poison Mulder's water supply in the X-Files - okay, that was fiction.
...when you look at all the attempts against Fidel and others you have to wonder why they kept trying: the success rate must be very low percentage-wise.
Paul...Why would the CIA want to kill a bloke who plays in midfield for Bolton Wanderers?
